Preliminary 1
Myq Kaplan
Myq Kaplan is a comedian named Myq Kaplan. He is proud to have snagged all the relevant and appropriately named Myq Kaplan-associated techno-social accoutrements (website, Facebook, Twitter, even Myspace still, and probably Friendster because he still gets updates from them about the birthdays of spambots) and invites you to become friends/fans/followers/fun-havers or any other f-words on those sites. If you are not enticed enough yet by the above words alone, what about after this informative bragging: Myq has appeared on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham," won the inaugural 2009 New York Comedy Contest and the 2009 Caroline's March Comedy Madness competition, and was judged Best Local Comedian in the Boston Phoenix last year. Thanks for reading so much, you win the prize of being almost done reading. If that makes you sad, check out www.myqkaplan.com or any other aforementioned internet locations for more. Or if you're not sad. (Sadness is not a prerequisite for visiting Myq Kaplan online.)

Tyler Boeh
Tyler Boeh began his stand-up career in Portland, Oregon shortly after graduating from the University of Oregon in 2003. In college his interest in theatre turned him into an award winning improv comedian, performing for four years in over 100 improv shows for thousands of people from Alaska to California. He proved himself as a young but formidable comedian by taking 2nd place in the Portland Comedy Competition and winning the Oregon International Comedy Competition just a few short months after stepping onto the comedy scene in 2004. In 2006 Tyler competed in the month long Seattle International Comedy Competition, where he was a finalist. Shortly following the competition, Tyler was featured in an article in Horizon Air Magazine about how comedians don’t have to move away from the NW to have a successful career in comedy. Tyler recently moved away from the NW in hopes to have a successful career in comedy. He now lives in Boston, MA, but continues to work at venues across the country. In September of 2008 Tyler participated in both the Boston comedy festival and the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy competition where he was a semi-finalist and took 3rd place respectively. With a background in improv and a love for writing, Tyler’s act is fast paced with a shotgun delivery. His comedy can be described as high energy, intelligent, physical, and silly. Owen delivers from a laid back stage presence and uses his sharp wit during crowd interaction. Owen has experienced a lot in less than 30 years on the planet and keeps audiences laughing in spite of it all. When not traveling Owen is a staple of the New York comedy scence.

Sarah Tollemache
Sarah could be best described in three words it would be crazy, sexy, cool and dependable. She doesn't really tell it like it is and I pull punches. I am a Mergers and Acquisitions daughter. I am what you call a double threat. I can act, do standup and birdcalls.

As a child Sarah would listen to Eddie Murphy, George Carlin and Bill Cosby on cassette with her older brother. This is where Sarah got her inspiration to pursue comedy, not a normal little girl's dream. Sarah started honing in on her craft and eventually got voted Most Humorous in her eighth grade class. After high school, Sarah took a minor detour and thought that she wanted to pursue a career in music, but eventually she fell short on rent and had to sell her guitar and other child hood dreams. Then one day while hanging out in Austin saw an ad in the paper looking for comedians to try out for the Aspen Comedy Festival, so she decided to take a chance and that is the first time that she went up. She didn't do well, but she didn't do bad either and that is when she realized that there will always be someone worse than she was. So a few months later she discovered that the Houston Laff Stop had an open mic and was hooked then on out. After several years, she eventually rose in the ranks of the Houston comedy scene and later won Houston's Funniest Person Contest in 2004. In 2008 she was named Best Local Comic by the Houston Press and in that same year performed on Last Comic Standing. Now, Sarah Tollemache is fully determined to have a career in comedy.

Lamont Price
Lamont Price is a hilarious oxymoron. His comedy is edgy and laidback, off the beaten path and anchored in social consciousness. He doesn’t care in that cool sort of way, and he doesn’t hold back. His commanding stage presence electrifies the crowd.

Price’s love for comedy started nearly a decade ago with a stand-up comedy course, and has become an obsession with winning over a room. He’s shared the stage with comedy powerhouses Dane Cook, Pablo Francisco, Patrice O’Neal, Tommy Davidson and John Witherspoon, to name a few. He’s gotten ink in Boston’s best: The Boston Globe and The Boston Herald. A regular at Boston’s Comedy Connection and Nick’s Comedy Stop, and on campus at Boston University and Boston College, Price’s star is rising…and heading west.

In New York, he’s performed at Stand-Up New York, Gotham Comedy Club, and NY Comedy Club. Next stop, Hollywood. While entertaining the likes of Johnny Knoxville at the Sam Adams Grill & Groove Summer Jam ’02, he met a local director with a script. Joe Wong
Self-titled as an “all American immigrant,” Joe Wong came a long way from a rosy-eyed new immigrant to a blossoming comedian. His jokes range from ethnic, personal, political, observational to bizarre. It’s not always easy to categorize his humor, but it is always inspired.

In China, Joe enjoyed watching traditional Chinese

standup comedy and sketches. He wrote and starred in two comedy sketches that won accolades from audiences. Continually fascinated by the vibrant American culture, he tried to learn about it through rock music from static-laden radio stations and a limited amount of books and movies.

Joe finally made the leap to the United States in 1994 and ended up at Rice University in Texas. In 1996, Joe honed his writing skills by becoming a columnist for the campus newspaper The Thresher. He was thrilled to find out how much people enjoyed his humor.

Moving to Boston in late 2001 to take advantage of the well-established comedy scene, Joe enrolled in standup, acting and improvisational comedy classes. He quickly became a Boston favorite among comedians and audience members alike. Joe has won the Lizard Lounge weekly comedy contest six times, thus standing out in the comedy club in Cambridge, Massachusetts noted for its smart comedians.

J-L Cauvin

J-L began inquiring how he could get some stage time and after following some leads he began performing at open mics. Quickly developing a knack for it, J-L was named Washington D.C.’s funniest student in March 2004 at a sold out show at the D.C. Improv.
After moving back to New York upon graduation from GULC in May 2004, J-L continued to work harder and harder as a comic, all while working as an Assistant District Attorney during the day in the Bronx. He received invitations to the Boston Comedy Festival, The DC Comedy Festival and the Detroit Comedy Festival, has traveled the country as a feature act and has appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and NESN Comedy All Stars.
J-L’s act is incredibly diverse. His topics include his Haitian-Irish upbringing, problems with being 6’7” (J-L’s height), numerous failed relationships, as well as more observational humor concerning topics like the proliferation of prison weight rooms and the real meaning behind the Rocky film series. He has released two CDs, 2006’s Racial Chameleon and 2008’s Diamond Maker and has been featured in the book The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Jokes.

Ken Schultz
Ken Schultz combines a quick-witted writing style with a booming basso-profundo delivery, resulting in a stand-up act that proves intelligent people can be intentionally funny too. Credited by his peers for his well-crafted material, Ken is unafraid to tackle "bigger topics" such as religion or politics and make them work for a comedy club audience. He was born and raised in Chicago and the city is definitely a part of his act to the point where he has proudly admitted his Cub fandom while working a club in St. Louis. Against all odds, he survived the week with his skeletal structure still intact.

After graduating from Kenyon College with a double major in English and Drama, Schultz quickly realized that no Fortune 500 companies were lining up to hire someone to analyze Act IV, Scene ii of King Lear. So he decided to make a living telling jokes for drunks in bars. People seem to be OK with this.

Alvin David
Stand-up comics are put into categories. It's often word like "observational" or "autobiographical" are used to sum up a performer. His fans and peers all agree that Big Al defies classification; and the truest thing anyone can say about Alvin David show is: it's and experience.

Shawn grew up in a single parent household in the outskirts of Dallas, Texas ( which would later prove to be hilarious). I am a Penn State “graduate”, and a veteran of the United States Navy. I began my comedy career after gathering just enough work experience to realize that the 9 to 5 world and I would never happily marry. At this point my experiences, my failures and my outlook on life have become my comedy and your enjoyment. Comedy has always been my passion, and once I began to step on stage, I found an inner peace and drive that college nor the military was able to provide for me. I am most comfortable, enjoyable, hateable, loveable, caring, offensive, and sarcastic when on stage. Without the stage there can be no rest for the Jedi within. It is where I am most at home. May the force be with us, always.

I started comedy in October of 2002 in Philadelphia at the Laff House comedy club. In July of 2004 I began hosting major shows on weekends. I began opening for big names in the business such as comedy central’s Patrice O’neal, Greg Giraldo and many others. I than began to feature with the likes of HBO’s Louis CK and Saturday night live’s Finess Mitchell. I have since featured in many clubs across the United States. Josh's comedy touches on topics from rainbows to gangsta rap and makes them all equally hilarious to audiences thanks to his terrific writing and performing. Peter Kuempel
Pete Kuempel is a Stand-up comic. Many have even found him to be quite humorous….. So that’s good.

Recognized for his cool, dry delivery, Pete enjoys engaging audiences with his sarcastic personal observations and uniquely laid back, deliberate style. Brought up within an ethnically mixed family (His Mother is Mexican and his father is Irish) on Chicago’s South side, much of Pete’s comedy is drawn from life and he attributes a great deal of his wry, street smart disposition to his experiences growing up in the city.

Pete has always had a knack for finding the absurdity in life’s frustrations and giving them an amusing twist. In doing so, he has developed a sense of ironic detachment that people find genuinely appealing. Plus, he’s pretty damn funny, and people usually seem to appreciate that. His peculiar perspective and leisurely, yet sharp delivery style have entertained audiences throughout Chicago as well as the Midwest, and now Pete can be found on a regular basis working the comedy clubs of the New York area and all over the east coast

A rising star in the Boston circuit, his routine has some audiences wondering if they should laugh or lock him up. Towing the line but seldom crossing it, Dave's eerie and inspiring one-liners are sure to keep you coming back for more

David Grabiner
David Grabiner never quite fit in with the rest of the world. While other people would have found this depressing, he finds it funny. He attended Brown University and majored in computer science, believing that staring at a flickering screen for twelve hours a day would improve his piddling social skills. It was at Brown that David started doing comedy, honing his comedic talent at the classiest frat houses Providence, RI had to offer.

After graduating, he moved to Boston and quickly made an impression on the local comedy scene. He was a semi-finalist in the 2009 New York Comedy Contest, and spent a month as comic-in-residence at the Comedy Studio, opening every show during the month of April in 2007. Touching on subjects from everyday life, he endears himself to audiences with his slightly self-deprecating and sarcastic style. David takes pride in writing well-crafted jokes that delight all types of crowds. He believes that if everyone only sees one side of anything, it’s probably the wrong side.

He does not miss frat houses.

Danny Bevins
Danny Bevins has been called many things: juvenile delinquent, soldier, flight attendant, patient, husband and lately "disturbingly hilarious". Though the term that best describes him is SMARTASS. His mouth has gotten him arrested, fined and fired from every job he’s ever had, but for the last ten years it’s propelled him to tour the world and preform on some of the most prestigious stages in comedy. The son of a Jesus freak and a Green Beret, Bevins straddles the line between temptation and authority. He’s loud, audacious, opinionated, cocky, animated, charming, irreverent, sarcastic, facetious, ridiculous and dangerous. He is an AMERICAN SMARTASS!
