Join "America's Foremost Commentator on Everything," Lewis Black, as he helps finish off the 8th Annual Boston International Comedy Festival.

Yes, even the biggest curmudgeons in the world have friends, and each year the country's favorite curmudgeon, The Daily Show's Lewis Black, brings several of his friends to The Boston Comedy Festival to put on a show that revels in absurdity, stupidity and of course, bitterness. Black has identified three friends - Boston Legend and one of the founders of the infamous Ding Ho Club, DJ Hazard, the "dazzling" Irish comic Ed Byrne, and co-creator and former head writer of the Daily Show, Lizz Winstead. back to top

Boston Comedy Awards and Contest Finals Cutler Majestic Theatre at Emerson College 8:15 PM $45 - $65 Buy Tickets
The Boston Comedy Festival's Annual Comedy Contest is one of the largest comedy extravaganzas on the planet. Each year the contest brings together top comedians from all over the world to compete for the $10,000 prize and a chance to be seen by top talent scouts.
This year's event is hosted by Boston comedy legend Jim McCue, who has appeared on Comedy Central, Comcast Comedy Spotlight and recently returned from entertaining our troops in Iraq.
The eight comics who, after competing with 96 of the nation’s funniest up-and-comers, make it past the preliminary and semi-final rounds, will vie for $10,000 in prize money in the Boston Comedy Festival Contest Finals.
At the finals, the Boston Comedy Festival and Emerson College will present Comedy Lifetime Achievement Awards to Mort Sahl, a comedy trailblazer who paved the way for the likes of Lenny Bruce and Dick Gregory, and also wrote speeches for President John F. Kennedy; Bill Dana, known to many as "Jose Jimenez", who was a pioneering comedy writer starting in the 1950s and also founded the American Comedy Archives at Emerson College in 2005; and Shelley Berman, the legendary comic celebrating 50 years of comedy in 2007 who has recurring roles on Curb Your Enthusiasm and Boston Legal. In addition, the Comedian of the Year Award will be presented to Lewis Black. Shelley Berman, Bill Dana and Lewis Black will be present to accept their awards, and unfortunately Mort Sahl will be in absentia.
Don't miss the biggest night of comedy! back to top
